Project Lore Hits Episode 100!

by Kory Klem Milestones, Project Lore Announcements February 23rd, 2009 at 3:25 pm No Comments

If you’re not one of millions of World of Warcraft players, watching the intrepid Project Lore team attack a boss in the higher levels of the game might be a little intimidating. Within the fight, countless battle statistics indicate health and damage and are vital to achieving success. Our guys not only know what each number means, they’re also paying very close attention to all of them. But this month here at Project Lore, there was only one number we had on our minds: 100.

That’s right, Project Lore recently aired its 100th episode! Here it is - watch the guys discuss quests and then enter a section of the game called Azjol-Nerub:

In the seven short months since our launch, we’ve aired more than a hundred Project Lore episodes and introduced three new shows. All in, our videos have already accumulated more than 8.5 million views! What makes this number all the more extraordinary is that Project Lore is only distributed on three sites: ProjectLore.com, Wowhead, and Thottbot.

Alex Albrecht, the entire Lore team, and I would like to take a moment to thank the Project Lore community for their passionate and continued support. It’s their viewership and feedback that makes this show possible. We appreciate it, and we’re looking forward to bringing them even more exciting things in the coming months.

Welcome to the DECA Blog

by Michael Wayne Co-Founder, President & CEO Welcome to the DECA Blog by Chris Kimbell Co-Founder & VP, Programming DECA News February 17th, 2009 at 4:51 pm 1 Comment

When we founded DECA in the summer of 2007, our goal was to create high-quality content that’s of the web, by the web, and for the web. We look at what people care about online and create video and other content that meets their needs.

We’ve spent the last year and a half focused on that task, building a great team and launching several properties that have gotten some great buzz and feedback.

But we haven’t talked much about ourselves or our company so far. We’re launching this blog to share who we are and what we’re working on and thinking about.

Of course, we’ll be posting company news and links to our press releases, but we also hope to make this a space for thoughtful conversations about the future of digital media. We hope you’ll join us.

So, welcome to the DECA blog, and thanks for reading. We’ll be updating about once a week to start, with posts from many different people at the company.

To keep tabs, grab our RSS feed or follow us on Twitter.

Blip.tv gives videomakers a chance to be a star

Michael Wayne, CEO of DECA Studios, a Los Angeles producer of Web video shows, has his own advertising sales team, so he uses Blip primarily for technology.

He uses the Blip player for popular shows such as Project Lore (about gaming) and Momversation, which are branded with their own show names rather than a Blip.tv logo. “Blip enables us to put our stuff up very easily and gives us access to data that lets us track how many people viewed our shows and share that with advertisers,” Wayne says.

‘Project Lore’ Plays WoW So You Don’t Have To

by admin All Press, Project Lore Press February 3rd, 2009 at 11:37 am No Comments

To be honest, I was a little bit baffled when I stumbled across Project Lore…As it turns out, I was surprised by Project Lore, which manages to appeal to my gaming geek sensibilities despite my avoidance of all things WoW.

The Project Lore team consists of five WoW-holics: the leader, Alex Albrecht, co-host of Diggnation and formerly of The Screen Savers, is the creator/host of the show (and the party Rogue). Albrecht launched the series back in June of last year, backed up by Hunter-playing Zand “Dorkins” Broumand, Joshua Brentano, who tanks for the team when he’s not Executive Producer of G4’s Attack of the Show, Healer Jerry Trainor of iCarly, and Managing Editor/Team Asskicker Brandon Sato. Together these Fantastic Five quest through everything Azeroth has to offer in search of phat loot and experience points.
